Artist Rita Spalding featured in Brown County show

An Indianapolis artist is having a one-woman show at a Brown County gallery! The Historic Brown County Art Gallery has announced that this year's Collector's Showcase will feature the work of Indianapolis artist Rita Spalding and her prizewinning still lifes. "Perfectly Placed -- The Art and Artifacts of Rita Spalding," will open with a reception Friday, October 7, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The show will continue through Nov. 12.

Check out Rita Spalding's work at www.ritaspalding.com.

Her paintings have been shown in exhibitions in galleries and museums in the US and abroad, including many times at this gallery in the IHA Exhibition & Sale.

Food and wine will be served and all exhibits will be open. "I’ll have lots of my larger paintings of antiques and roses as well as vignettes created with my collection of carved tables, crystal chandeliers, silver vessels, and other assorted ephemera that have appeared in my paintings," says Spalding. "It’s such an exciting opportunity for me to share this body of work and I’m deeply appreciative of the Brown County Art Gallery for hosting this exhibition!" Admission is $20 at the door with proceeds benefiting the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling the gallery at 812-988-4609. The gallery is located at 1 Artist Dr., Nashville, IN 47448
