Patty's Picks: 'One Night Only' will make you think

Film critic Patty Spitler reviewed the new movie “One Night Only” during her “Patty’s Picks” segment, hosted by WISH-TV's Talor Bassett.

The film stars Callum Turner and Monica Barbaro as strangers in New York City who meet during the one night each year when unmarried couples are allowed to pursue romantic relationships. The story explores government control over personal relationships, raising questions about freedom and outside influences on love.

“It makes you think, and that’s always a good thing,” Spitler said.

Patty called the film thought-provoking but somewhat repetitive, praising the performances of Turner and Barbaro. She said the movie also delivers moments of humor while exploring deeper themes.

While reviews have been mixed, Spitler said the film succeeds in encouraging viewers to consider personal freedom and the role others play in relationships.
