Patty's Picks: Popular 'Spider-Man' has visual depth
WISH-TV’S Cody Adams joins Patty for her review of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” which opened in theaters Friday. It brings a new chapter in the long-running superhero saga — one that finds Peter Parker fighting crime in a world where many people have forgotten who he is.
Rated PG-13 for action, adventure, sci-fi and violence, the film runs 2 hours and 25 minutes. The story follows Parker as his friends leave him behind and he faces a powerful, invisible villain threatening to erase whatever identity he has left.
Tom Holland reprises his role as Parker and Spider-Man for the seventh time in the franchise and his fourth solo-starring film. Zendaya also appears alongside Holland. The two actors met in 2014 and reportedly married in 2024.
Holland said he has no plans to step away from the role anytime soon, indicating he likely will not stop playing the character until he reaches the age of 37.
Patty has given the film high marks, with scores of 4.5 and 4.7 out of five stars. Praising the film’s visual depth, noting that several shots directly mimic iconic comic book covers.
