Canada's oldest person has message of love

Marie Rosa celebrated her incredible 111th birthday surrounded by family and friends at The Village of Humber Heights in Etobicoke, Ontario.

Born on September 17, 1915, Rosa has lived through two World Wars and witnessed more than a century of Canadian history.

Her daughter, Catherine Sinisalo, says Rosa’s secret to a long life may be her love of vegetables—but Rosa’s own advice is beautifully simple: “Love everybody.” She believes that giving love, kindness,

hugs and affection can make life happier and more meaningful.

Family and friends describe her as a joyful “ball of life” who continues to brighten the lives of those around her.

The birthday celebration featured Rosa’s favorite lemon cake, with more celebrations planned alongside her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family says the gathering was especially touching because so many people came simply to celebrate her remarkable milestone.
